1. Agreement
By using Volgo you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Contact: ops@volgo.ai.
2. The service
Volgo provides live transcription, translation, captions, AI-generated summaries and an experimental sign-language avatar for in-person talks and events, and for conversations between people who don’t share a language (Chat). Volgo is in an active pilot phase: features, limits and tiers may change.
3. Accounts and guests
Keep your credentials safe; you are responsible for activity under your account. Give accurate information. Anonymous guest access exists for listening and asking questions; unregistered guest identities are deleted automatically.
4. Credits
Volgo is paid for with credits. One credit equals one US dollar (US$1). Hosting an event or a chat spends credits by the minute while it runs, at the rate shown before you start; if you end early, only the minutes used are spent. We may change our rates, and the rate that applies is the one shown when an event or chat starts.
A chat is priced the same way, by the minute, for the languages of the conversation; it has no audience, so only its languages move the price.
For an event, each minute is priced for what that minute used: how many languages were being served in it, and how many people were listening. The audience size you choose when you create the event sets the starting rate and its floor — if more people join, those minutes cost more, and the rate never falls below the size you chose, even if fewer people come — while minutes in which fewer of your languages are actually used cost less. Questions asked by attendees add a small amount to the minute they arrive in. Sign language is free. Amounts accrue at full precision and are rounded to the nearest cent once, when the event ends, rather than minute by minute. Any total shown before an event starts is an estimate of the most it can cost at the length and audience size you picked, with every language you chose in use; what you are charged is the minutes actually used at the rates actually reached.
New accounts receive promotional credits, and you can earn more by inviting people who create an account. We may change or end promotional offers at any time.
Credits are sold as a final sale. Credits are a prepaid right to use Volgo, not money. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, refunded, or transferred to another account, except where the law requires otherwise. Credits can only be used on Volgo, and any unused credits are forfeited when an account is deleted or terminated.
Credits expire twelve months after the day they are purchased or granted, and expired credits cannot be restored. Expiry is not a refundable event. Where the law of your state gives prepaid balances a longer life or requires notice before they lapse, that law applies instead of this paragraph.
We may set fair-use limits — such as the number of questions an attendee can ask — to keep the service reliable for everyone.
5. Recording responsibilities
Volgo transcribes the words it hears: at an event, the people holding the microphone; in a Chat, everyone within range of the phone while it listens. The app notifies every participant it can reach, but it cannot reach people near your microphone outside the app, or the people you talk to in a Chat. As a host or Chat user, you are responsible for telling them before their words are captured, and for complying with the recording-consent laws that apply to you — Florida, for example, requires all parties’ consent.
6. Acceptable use
- No unlawful, infringing, hateful or harassing content or events.
- Broadcast only content you have the right to broadcast.
- No circumventing limits or security, no scraping, and no reverse engineering except where the law permits it.
We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these rules.
7. Your content
Your events, words and questions remain yours. You grant us the license needed to operate the service: to process, store, translate, summarize and deliver your content to your event’s audience. Deleting content or your account ends this license except where the law requires retention.
8. AI accuracy
Transcriptions, translations, summaries and the sign-language avatar are AI-generated and can be wrong, incomplete or delayed. The sign-language avatar is a beta supplement to captions, not a replacement for a human interpreter. Do not rely on Volgo output alone where accuracy is critical (for example medical, legal or safety contexts).
9. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of US$100 or the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, including recording-consent obligations.
10. Termination
You can stop using Volgo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these Terms, with notice where practicable. Either way, any unused credits are forfeited (see section 4).
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA; exclusive venue is the state and federal courts of Miami-Dade County, Florida.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; the date above changes when we do, and material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
13. Transfer of the business
We may assign these Terms, your account, and any credit balance to a successor entity, including in connection with an incorporation, reorganization, merger, or transfer of the business. The successor takes on our obligations to you, including your unused credits, and your rights under these Terms do not change. You may not assign or transfer your account or your credits to anyone else.
